Join Us on This Journey

At DACO, the Diasporic Alliance for CannabisOpportunities, we are dedicated to fostering equitable policies and opportunities within the cannabis industry for communities across the diaspora. Our mission is anchored in the belief that education and advocacy can lead to meaningful change, helping to rectify historical injustices while empowering our community.

DACO came into existence in 2016, co-founded by Cherron Perry-Thomas, driven by a sense of disillusionment experienced as a minority at national conferences and events. Witnessing a significant information gap firsthand, Cherron was motivated to bridge this divide. Her objective was clear: to equip the community with the necessary networks and resources to actively participate in the burgeoning cannabis industry. By producing a two-day free conference, the Cannabis Opportunities Conference in Philadelphia, PA DACO is reaching its goal of raising awareness for educational, wellness and economic prospects. This work expanded to include a full week of events through Black Cannabis Week, which acknowledges the accomplishments of Blacks in cannabis.
